    Hello,

We just moved to North Georgia (Pickens County) and are looking for bulk finished compost to amend our new garden beds. Any recommendations at a reasonable cost? Also looking for seed variety recommendations for this climate as what I typically grow does mot grow well here.

    Thanks !

    Jimmy

Contact local municipalities, many have compost from trees, grass etc they pick up. Mine does and it’s free to residences, they have acres of the stuff.

Before you get any compost, I recommend you test it for herbicides BEFORE you mess up your garden….

Welcome to Georgia! Our county provides free mulch. Call Pickens county and see if they have a mulch program. If you have room to let wood chips sit for a while, contact a tree service and see if they will deliver a load of chips to rot down for a while. Rabbit manure is relatively safe, except for gmo alfalfa, but at least it won’t be sprayed with a broad leaf herbicide. Good luck!
