Cucumber Plants Starting to Die

I live in Middle TN and this is my first year at having a garden. My Cucumber plants have done well up till this past week and they are turning brown. Is this normal for the hot summer? Can I start more now and they produce for this fall?

    Thanks.

Cucumbers often fail during the heat of August. You can probably start a second crop, and get some before frost. When the soil is so warm, seeds germinate quickly. You might put the second crop in a different location, in case disease is killing the first crop.

The same happens to mine each year when the heat really hits. I planted this year in a spot that sees less sun and they lasted a little longer but only a couple of weeks.

Middle TN also and we just pulled ours out. Should be enough time. You may be able to cover them if we get a random freeze and you’re not ready to let them go.

There is also a FB group called Middle Tennessee Gardeners. It has to be one of the nicest groups I’ve ever been in but there is a wealth of information there.

Thanks Everyone for the reassurance this is normal. I will get more seeds in the ground in an other spot to have more for the fall. This group is great.
