Alexa Pure
Posted by MulberryGardens-Christina on February 27, 2023 at 8:08 pmIs there a new link to get an Alexa Pure? The one on the YouTube videos only takes me to emergency food supplies. Thanks all!

I changed to Berkey a couple of years ago. Looking at 4 patriots filters. I did look at zero water…the meter that came with it, they claim zero, not the case at all. It really time consuming to research filters and decide which one to use. My water in Euless has a taste to it.

Our well water is really delicious and has great minerals to it, we’re just wanting to have one in case of contamination.

Hi! I bought my Alexapure from Patriot Supply. They have replacement filters as well. Danny and Wanda MAY have a coupon code on their YouTube page, bu I’m not sure.

It’s the link on their page I keep trying to use, but it only takes me to a back up food supply for MyPatriot Supply. I know last year it went to the AlexaPure, but I didn’t have the $200 then.

I’m looking for a water filter that will filter dirty rain water or pond water for drinking. I researched for hours and most filter leads but not bacteria. It’s just for emergencies shtf use. Would appreciate any help.

I have PorOne and as far as I remember they can do that. I like that the filters are ceramic and have silver in them. You can clean the filters and reuse them for up to a year. Most of the filter companies claim pretty much the same for their filters, so in the end it’s just personal preference. If the rain/pond water is too dirty, I would just strain it through a cloth or something to get the particles out.
As a backup, I have tablets that kill bacteria that I can add into the filter system.

What tablets do you use? Will just boiling water be safe for drinking?

I got the Water Purifier Tablets “Micropur MP1” from LL Bean, the company is Katadyn.
Boiling would work imo, but you would have to boil it at high temps for hours, just as you would sterilize canning jars.

@TCam Boiling water would kill any pathogens like bacteria and protists. But you’d probably still want to run the water through a filter for any chemicals that won’t boil out. For questionable pond water, I’d run it first through a tightly woven material like a tshirt to get the biggest particulates out, then boil, then run through a gravity filter.
I have a ProOne and really like it. The company developer used to work at Berkey. ProOne filters remove some bacteria like E. coli and giardia. The filter lab reports are all published on their website.

Summerhat-n-Chicks, you don’t have to boil water for hours to kill germs. It would evaporate if you tried. If you get the water up to a boil and turn it off, it’s fine. If you want water that’s really purified from everything without buying a water filter, you could distill it. That’s energy intensive, but effective.
