Handling the Holidays

Whether you”celebrate” or not, this season or time of the year can get crazy. I choose to pace myself with everything. I like things finished and will work on one project until finished. Others go by the wayside and get done tomorrow. I find jumping around from project to project frustrates me. Danny is learning that I need to finish before moving on.

With that being said, I start clothes in the washer after breakfast, make bed, and get etsy orders out. Then feed chickens and check greenhouse. These are starting projects.

Then if we have a common project to work on, we go that route. If not, I can, cook, whatever while Danny mechanics or builds.

During the holidays, going into town gets crazy. So we go early and are home by 10. Most stores open early and we go there first.

Try this year to limit your stress. Enjoy what you have around you. Take time for yourself with devotions, long baths, cup of coffee, or a short nap. All these will help soothe your soul.

Much wisdom in this post. This reply is being written 2 days after Christmas. Family gatherings are both a blessing and stressful. I am grateful to have family together but I have 2 daughter in laws that are not fond of each other and basically give each other the silent treatment 😢 I can’t fix it so I just pray and ask God to work in their hearts. Love them both but can’t fix it. My husband and me are dealing with his cancer treatment, he is one of my top priorities. Bless you, Wanda for all that you share with us.

You need to find the balance in life so that you do not burn out.
