Does anyone here have any resources/connections for liver disease, specifically fibrosis/cirrhosis? Any supplements, foods, etc., that we can bring to the NP, or things you know to avoid? When asked about things to do, or avoid, etc. while we’re basically hanging out and waiting for the next 6 months, and basically got the fat speech: start walking more, no simple carbs, lots of complex carbs, whole grains, legumes, low-fat… I wanted to say, Oh, hai, are we still in the 80s? Oh, and take tylenol and not advil. LOL

I would suggest getting a quality milk thistle and also consider fasting 2-3 times a week. On fast days can have black coffee, unsweetened tea, and water. If hunger occurs, drink warm tea or bone broth. Drink lots of water during your fast. I would also suggest looking into castor oil compresses.

I really do need to get back into making bone broth. Making enough to drink daily is definitely a chore, and not cheap. But I don’t trust commercial brands and I live in very conventional farming community area. I need to suck it up and pick and option and get to it though! Thank you!

Bags of chicken feet can be reasonably purchased from butcher shops. Scald and skin, if not already done, and crock pot on low. Add real salt, garlic and other herbs ( I love thyme, which grows readily in most zones. Delicious chicken bone broth, and compost to either side dress garden rows or add to the compost pile.

Thank you so much for that reply! I’ll check them out, but I totally had never heard of the niacin thing before. I’ll definitely check them out and do some research!

Thanks for the heads up, because unless I found that in my research, I’d have totally looked for the non-flush.
