An animal bite treated with essential oils
So last week, our elderly inside cat bit me. Not an aggressive bite, it was a case of mistaken identity as she mistook my thumb for her food. Blood was drawn so I quickly washed it and put some rubbing alcohol on it. By the end of the day my thumb was swelling and starting to get stiff. By the next morning it was more swollen, turning a very light shade of pinkish red, and I could barely bend my thumb.
I figured this was as good of a time as any to try a natural remedy that we already had on hand. So my wife told me to get a bandaid, put 2 drops of rosemary oil and 2 drops of tea tree oil on the bandaid, and put that band aid on the wound.
Truth be told, I was expecting to have to give my doctor a call that evening. To my surprise, at the end of the day the swelling had gone down, the natural color was back, and movement was getting better. The next morning I repeated the treatment. By the end of the second day my thumb was back to normal, except for the 2 puncture wounds!
I am not that much into essential oils but my wife is, and this has definitely showed me the benefit of having alternative forms of treatment. Your results may vary, but in my case they worked beautifully!
