Are there any Orthodox Christians here? I am actively seeking to create an Orthodox Christian Freesteading community in West Central Florida.

I am not Orthodox, but my church uses the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Our new priest and his family are teaching us more about Eastern spirituality. The Apostolic Fathers have been a big influence on me. Let me know how your endeavor is going. Macrina – wasn’t she the sister of St. Basil the Great? My patron is Emmelia, their mother.

Cool! May the Lord bless you all. Yes Macrina, is called the Younger because her grandmother’s name is Macrina as well. St Basil the Great is her brother. St Emilia is her mother. ☦️

I pray our patrons will pray for Catholic and Orthodox to be one. Doesn’t look too good just now, since Francis is trying very hard to be an anti-pope. At least as a Melkite, I can keep him at arm’s distance.

Pray for the followers of Jesus!

As a Catholic, I can assure you that we are not happy with the Pope right now, either! But I’m not going to let some misguided shepherd lead me astray and not receive the sacraments. Luckily we have a great priest at our perish!

Same here. Melkites are one of the other rites recognized by Rome. I have had a bad feeling about Bergolio ever since his first greeting as Pope, when he said, “Good evening.”

I am praying that enough cardinals and bishops rebuke him so that he backs down, and that he repent while he still has time!
