  • Read the Community Rules (link-to-rules) — they’re short and common-sense.
  • Be kind and helpful. We’re all on the same team.
  • Feel free to post photos and updates of your homestead — we love the inspiration!

Hello everyone, I'm Tag from the YouTube channel Life Done Free. My wife Bee and I are a 100% offgrid homesteader in the beautiful Central Plains USA. Our primary goal is to use every resource available to exit the system that actively works to control and enslave us. Prepping is a great start but soon you realize that you can only store so much. Homesteading is the next step but, soon we realize that we are still dependent on the matrix. For us, the ultimate goal is Freesteading. A life parallel to our existing system. A life that uses the system when needed but, a life that eliminated the need for it. Happy to be here.

Hi, All,
Looks like an interesting forum, and I'm happy to be part of it. I've been active on Permies.com and IC.org forums for years, but haven't found a lot of kindred spirits on those--a few worker bees who are actually homesteading, but mostly homesteader wanabes who talk the talk but don't walk the walk. After reading a few posts here, especially Tag and Bee's posts, I think this might be the right venue for me. Seeking freedom in an unfree world. I'm trying to build a self-sufficient and sustainable community in TN for the mutual benefit of its homesteading residents. The land will be in an agricultural land trust, and the infrastructure will be owned by a Private Membership Association (PMA) whose members will share start-up expenses and future revenue. Teamwork makes the dream work, as they say.

You will fit in well here.
SW of Nashville a ways. Not giving out exact location until we close next month, but I'll be posting our progress as we develop the property into a resilient and sustainable Permaculture community. It'll also be a Freedom Cell (freedomcells.org not .com).

Hi👋 I’m Jules from Oklahoma. Working to build an off-grid homestead on 5ac. Growing my first garden and food forest.
look at all of that

Hi All, Mike here. Came over from a link shared in the LFTN Telegram group. I'm also found on TSP.

Moved to TN from the Northeast in '21 and started a small homestead while also holding down a full-time job. Currently raising chickens, turkeys, and rabbits. Previously had ducks and bees too. Planning a retirement in next few years to devote more time at home doing the fun stuff.
