I plant all of my gardens East/West for the same reasons that you point solar panels to the south. You get more sun.
Danny did tilt his greenhouse slightly SE/NW to avoid the strong southern winds during a hurricane

The first thing you should do, if you haven’t already, is to put up a gate on the entrance road(s).

Thanks! That’s in Perkinston, right? We must be VERY close then. I’m coming over Thursday to do a little clearing, mostly to clean up what I’ve already done. When I move over there permanently, hopefully by summer, I’d like to get a community thing going where everybody that can, helps one another when needed.

Also, I’m going to do rainwater collecting and probably get an incinerator toilet for this building. I’m going to get a well and septic on the other side of the property and either build or buy a cabin for that area.

It was EXPENSIVE! 17k delivered and setup. It was a custom build and only took 2 weeks for them to build. It’s by United Portable Buildings. I used to do construction and it’s a very solid build. I don’t plan on living in it permanently which is why there aren’t many windows, so there is a 3×3 foot window and door on the the front and back side, and three transom windows on the right(south) side to let in the winter sun. There are no windows on the left(north) side to keep the cold out. I could have built my own, but I’m 62 so this saved me a LOT of labor. The windows have screens which I didn’t expect as the display models didn’t have any screens, and that is nice in deep south Mississippi.

Thanks, insulating the roof is going to be the first step, keeping heat OUT during the summer and heat IN during the colder months. The floor was foam sprayed at the factory saving me a ton of work.

It will be just a shop and storage eventually, but I needed something right now to store stuff and camp in.

I know right? I hope that they aren’t too bad in southern Mississippi. Being 20 inches high at the front and much higher in the back should hopefully keep them at bay.

Thanks, I picked the colors to blend in better with the woods. I don’t like bright flashy colors, I’m a dull kind of guy. lol

Thanks, once again it was nice meeting you in person at SRF.

Will do! I’ve been enjoying some of your videos.

Thanks! Now to get a shipping container for more storage.
