That 20 year break may have done some good to the property – have you taken a look at permaculture as a concept? There is lots of BAD info about it out there, but having a holistic plan for your land can help speed its productivity AND keep you from putting in tons of effort that does not pay off in the long run.

Sounds like a fun upgrade – I hope you will not feel rushed to “do it all” in the first year. Sometimes taking the time to observe the land yields better long term results if you can swing it!!
