Retired and widowed (2.5 years).  I was raised on a small homestead and it’s in my blood. After my husband passed of a sudden heart attack  I decided the home where we had raised our kids was too big. I was able to move into my grandparents home and I am living on 3 acres with my chickens, meat rabbits and dogs. I enjoy seed starting, gardening, cooking, canning and freezing when I’m not hanging out with my family and grandkids.  As Christians my husband and I were firm believers in prepping and keeping our lamps filled with oil so to speak. I hope to possibly add goats, ducks and pigs to the mix in the coming years. I still have big dreams but as 60 is just around the corner sometimes my body and mind aren’t always on the same page. LOL
