Cucumbers often fail during the heat of August. You can probably start a second crop, and get some before frost. When the soil is so warm, seeds germinate quickly. You might put the second crop in a different location, in case disease is killing the first crop.

I plant mine in September or October. I will put some slow release organic on it. Wish you success!
