My name is Amber. I mostly go by Mom or Auntie Am. I love kids and old people. My husband and i have 6 children between us. There are 5 boys and 1 girl, aging from 10 to 25. We currently have one living at home with us. My mom and two of our children live on the property as well.

We spent 5 years traveling. Kinda. We would work and go to school in each new place. In our time off we traveled near and far, doing and seeing as much as we possibly could. We are very much an outdoors kind of family and enjoying camping, hiking and exploring places that are off the beaten path.

We left our hometown in Texas and moved to the Four Corners area of NM first. We spent exactly 365 days there before moving back to Texas. We stayed another 365 days before moving again. This time my job took us up to the Texas/Oklahoma line where we spent a little over a year before moving again.

In April of 2020 tragedy struck our little family when my husband was involved in a motorcycle accident that caused a Traumatic Brain Injury.  So back to family in our little hometown we went. A year after that move we moved for what we hope is the last time.

We now live a very different life from the days of traveling and exploring. We call it homesteading! We live in an old doublewide on the family property i grew up on. My mom lives on the top of the hill. We have a small garden and hope to get some type of greenhouse soon. We are raising Kunekune pigs and a few different breeds of chickens.

I am learning new things everyday. I was a chef before. Now i get to put my experience to work in a new way.
