Hello homesteading community.

We are a small homestead / farm in Virginia.   We have gardens and raise livestock.  We originally started our homestead due to our health.  We decided to share our evolution of getting away from living and shopping within the main streem on YouTube and deceded on the name as Homestead Evolution as that is how we felt and still feel.  We feel are constantly evolving to our past if that makes any sence. We started with rabbits and that took us to quail.   The quail took us to the business side as people started showing up on our back porch asking if we were the quail people.   AJ Farms, LLC was established and we dove deeper onto quail.  We partnered with Rockridge Homestead across the street from us to help them with land clearing using pigs, soil building using chickens, raising meat chickens and layers, turkeys, and now beef all the while we were learning right along with them as we were teaching them about permacture.  We are now shifting our focus for our little farm.  We have discovered American Vresse chickens and will be exploring more into them as a replacement for having to purchase Cornish cross for meat.  We are constantly evolving and will continue to do so.  We are always brainstorming with whom ever will join in.  We are trying to spearhead a homesteading community in our area and already have several that all come.together for butchering and other things that need extra hands.   We are excited to be here.  Hopefully we can grow our local community.
