I would love to start the grocery row garden method and have a question on getting started. I have land in north Florida that used to be a pine tree farm a long time ago. A lot of the cleared land I have has small mounds where pine trees grew before. Would it be a good idea to start building soil on these mounds? Making the mounds into rows ? They were rows before. I don’t have the equipment or resources to till the area so I’m thinking just start pilling material like wood chips, mulch and other material on the mounds and start building soil. The soil there now is not terrible however there is a lot of roots just under the surface. Thank you for any feedback.

I’m not an expert gardener by any means, but it sounds like you have a natural hugelkulture set up there.

Oh I see now. Well sort of. I’d rather go with more lasagna style. With card board as well.
