I’m not sure I see a problem. It seems to separate home schools from FPEs in terms of what kind of funding they can receive. Is there another distinction or restriction I’m missing?

@redcap Personally, I feel it’s from an abundance of caution. I searched the full bill repeatedly until my eyes crossed and I couldn’t find a clear statement that homeschools would be labeled as schools and thus held to public school.firearm standards. The letter from the attorney seems to suggest that it’s a possibility that the homeschools, labeled as schools, could be held to the public school firearm policies. I’ve requested from several platforms and posts if they could even narrow it down to what page so that I could highlight that portion to share, to no avail.

At any rate, at least we have a link so folks can easily download the bill so they can read it for themselves. Perhaps someone may have more luck than I had in being pointed to the specifics.

Thank you Travis for the video regarding if you home school at home your home is now considered a school.

I put out two videos and got a few responses back. I contacted Lynne M. Taylor and she is in the loop. She is Ms Educational Advisor as she has been keeping up with all of this legislative stuff when Common Core reared its head and Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt, who worked under the Regan administration, found a folder labeled Education. Reading through the documents she found out they were planning to weaponize Education… and imo, they have.

Hey… Wanted to leave another reply regarding this subject:

I have been through the 120 page document and this is over my head. I couldn’t find where it states If you school from home, if you are a home schooler your home is classified as a school. PLEASE consider interviewing Lynne Taylor https://www.facebook.com/lynne.taylor.1962 as she is the Ms Educational Expert! …especially when it comes to government having their hands in education.

This is the reply I received through my Facebook page regarding the video I put out and looking for the words on homeschooling your home is a school:

Since 1986, homeschooling has been classified as a school in Missouri. Homeschooling has always been one of the school options in the state just like private, parochial, parish. From current Missouri Law ” As used in sections 167.031 to 167.071, a “home school” is a school, whether incorporated or unincorporated, that:

(a) Has as its primary purpose the provision of private or religious-based instruction;

(b) Enrolls pupils between the ages of seven years and the compulsory attendance age for the district, of which no more than four are unrelated by affinity or consanguinity in the third degree; and

(c) Does not charge or receive consideration in the form of tuition, fees, or other remuneration in a genuine and fair exchange for provision of instruction.”Homeschooling currently has and will continue to be a separate entity from public and private schools and has its own definition in the law and rules that have to be followed. There is not a redefining of homeschooling, it is just moving to a different section in the law to make homeschooling its own section like the rest of the school options. As afar as the 2a section goes, please read the HSLDA legal analysis to see why this doesn’t apply to homeschoolers. I have been in this arena I will call it since I was personally targeted for helping expose Common Core. Here in Florida it was relabeled to Florida Standards…..
