Fall crops

Hi y’all. I’m new to prepping and I live in one of the most restrictive states (NJ). Just asking, what crops can I plant now that I can harvest before or around winter? Thanks in advance.

Winter crops are mostly leafy greens, I would suggest radishes. I grew Miyashige Daikon radishes thru the winter in 15 F and 6 inches of snow as the carrots grew ever so slowly. You can eat the greens also. They make huge white carrots.

Miyashige Daikon is not spicy at all with a light radish flavor. These are examples of the leaves and carrot. The leaves are a little rough for me to eat raw but are good in soups. Cherished by the Asian community.

Carrots, turnips, beets, peas, lettuce, bok choy, radishes. Garlic and onions for next year harvest. I just planted my garlic today. You are near the ocean so that helps moderate your winters.
