WWe have four water barrels full of water & several cases of water. Is that enough for a start for several months.

I have been prepping for over 20 years. I would figure 2-3 gallons of water per day per person. Now keep in mind that the answer can vary depending on many things. How many people are in your group and how old are they? Do you have only dried foods stored? Will you be making baby formula every few hours? Does anyone in your group have special needs for extra liquids? Will you be worried about washing dishes or laundry? What are your plans on replenishing your water supply? Of course all of these things and many more will determine your answer. So give yourself some time to calculate how much you will need for each person for a specific time. Keep in mind you will also have the water in your water heater and toilet tank for use.

The average they recommend is 3 gallons per person per day.

Hi! I realized I should have posted this here as most relevant- about gas/fuel on the homestead. Great idea. Would love to see Off Grid with Doug and Stacy here! https://youtu.be/F4MSNf_GwrUhttps://youtu.be/F4MSNf_GwrU

My husband and I just moved to northern Wisconsin and dream of building with the capacity to live sustainable and off-grid. We both have some physical limitations that would make going 100% off-grid very difficult.

To start, we are creating our garden, researching chickens for spring, and studying how to farm the woods. I grew up on a hobby farm and am experienced at growing and preserving food although I am quickly learning my knowledge is limited only to my own experiences!

We are excited to have found you all and look forward to learning from you and sharing what we have to offer.
