<div>”…Vanadium flow batteries are the missing link in the solar energy equation, finally enabling solar power to roll out on a massive scale thanks to their longevity and reliability.</div>

…vanadium flow batteries can also be used to collect energy from a traditional electrical grid. This allows homeowners to have access to back-up power during outages due to extreme weather and helps control utility costs by collecting power from the electrical grid when rates are lower and storing it for later use during peak consumption times when rates are higher.”

“Vanadium flow batteries are ideal for powering homes with solar energy. Compared to lithium batteries, StorEn’s residential vanadium batteries are:

    • Able to discharge fully at 100% through the battery’s entire lifetime—there is no degradation of capacity

    • Durable, with an expected lifespan of 25 years or more

    • Low maintenance

    • Sustainable, as the vanadium electrolyte can be reused

    • Cost-effective

    • Non-flammable thanks to their water-based electrolyte

    • Non-explosive

    • Able to operate at low temperatures for both outdoor and indoor use”

Do you have one of these systems? I like to hear from people that have the systems if they do what they claim.

Cost should be better. Why is no one in energy talking about or even promoting valadium battery

Should be better? In the battery world I hear promises and no results. They claim 1/2 of the cost yet no where can I buy the system at 1/2 the cost. 90% of the time batteries are a scam.

Lead Acid, and Lithium are proven tech, other tech is yet to prove themselves.

We used to call it “vaporware”. A lot of talk, no product. That and when a product touted as “intuitive” comes with like 300 pages of instructions.

Other factors, flow batteries how do they deal with cold? Do the lines freeze? Do you have to heat the batteries? What is the cycle life? There are good tech batteries out there but often like the model T car, they have lots of problems at first and you are the beta tester.
