I understand your frustration! As a single lady, it is hard to find help with heavy labor without paying out of pocket. I don’t know your husband, but gheeesh really! Sounds like he need to man up! I live in a difficult area as well as far as trying to find like minded people whom are willing to lend a hand. I did find a handyman, but have to pay him for any work he has done.
