    Fertile African cattle breeds (especially Mashona cattle) are heat tolerant and parasite-resistant due to their slick hides and their meat quality is generally superior to Brahman cattle. Senepol cattle are also popular in warmer climates and some ranchers are starting to raise Senepol-Akaushi cross cattle that are heat tolerant for the production of high quality beef.
