Canning Green Beans

Should green beans be blanched before canning? I was taught to blanch and hot pack, but I recently saw some info online about cold packing raw green beans before pressure canning. I would love to skip the blanching step, but only if the finished product is the same quality. What do you guys think about this?

I always raw pack my green beans for canning. Never heard of blanching them first.

Wouldn’t blanching them keep there color bright a little longer???… always canned without but curious like when you freeze them, blanch to keep them fresh and green looking
