What’s everyone doing this Mother’s Day? I’m taking advantage of a cool front passing through and butchering some chickens my kids (almost 2 and almost 4) are helping. We’ll be celebrating later with a nice dinner. Happy Mother’s Day everyone!

Happy Mothers Day!
Enjoy that delicious chicken! My daughters job, she was 3 or 4, was to sing to them as they awaited their culling. Her older sister. 8 or 9, chose which one was next to be culled. She put the wire on their feet and laid them by her sister who petted them, gave them lots of luvs, and sang Old McDonald had a chicken 🎵 over and over again right before her dad cut their heads off and hung them to drain. 🤣

Lol I love it. My son (2) just watched and put the feathers in the bucket (I compost it for nitrogen) and he gave a few chicken feet to the dogs. My daughter (3) grabs the chicken and brings it over to me and she’ll help pluck feathers.

Happy Mother’s Day to you! I’m sitting here with ice in the back of my pants trying to recover from some yard work this morning. LOL But we’ve had good rain and it’s sunny today, the 3 1/2 week old chicklets are wandering the yard with Mother along with the other hens and I’m enjoying the peace of it.

Had some sweet loving messages from my kids. One son repaired an outdoor facet for me. My husband is making me some shrimp for supper.
Funny last week it was in the 60’s and we were loving it, today it was 83 and we’re not loving it so much. Running the heat last week and digging out fans this week. What a change in the weather!
