Hello. I’m Heather. My 13 year old has been doing an online virtual homeschool where he has classes with teachers daily. We are looking to doing a book workbook types education for high school. Does anyone know of a program/curriculum that is somewhat east to follow?

Good afternoon, Sarah here from South Dakota. I have 3 boys, ages 7.5, 4.5, and the youngest will be 2 on Sunday 1/29. Currently our oldest two children are in public school, preschool and 1st grade. We wanted to start homeschooling right away this month, but circumstances led us to deciding to let them finish this year in public school and next fall we will start fresh. We have a Christian Homeschool Conference in May where there will be some curriculum vendors and speakers with more information that will hopefully help give us some direction. I have done a lot of research and I’m concerned with getting all they need without drowning my kids! We know we want the main focus to always be Christ! My fear is picking curriculum and it not working well as I can’t afford to be switching up during the year. Any advice and encouragement is welcomed!

Welcome, have you connected with any other parents in your area? They might be able to help you some if that’s something you desire. I personally think your doing the right thing and it might be what saves our country. Some churches in your area might be able to help too.

Hello! My name is Lorina, and I homeschooled 2, now adult children. 19 and nearly 23.

I loved everything about it, which is why I chose it before my children were even conceived, whenever I had learned it was a possibility.

I lived in The Netherlands when I first found out about homeschooling, and moved to the States when my oldest was 5, and my youngest 1.5 years old.

I’ve done tons of types of schooling styles over the years, but my favorite has been a hybrid of co-op, and delight-led learning.

I have taught Early reading-writing-math, Art, Robotics, student counsel, and yearbook through co-ops. I still teach art, primarily for events, and private/semi-private lessons, both online or in person.

I’m here because I love being a resource for those just starting out with homeschooling, and/or art educating their children.

Blessings, and purposefully find joy along the journey!πŸ˜ŠπŸ’–

Hello, I’m a second generation homeschooling mama of 4. I want to encourage you all to keep going. Its the best thing you can do for your kids. I was homeschooled from second grade through high school myself. I then went to college and got a degree in laboratory technology. When my son was born I became a sahm. I homeschooled all 4 of my kids using an eclectic style, adjusting to their individual needs. My oldest two, 22 and 20, also went to our local community college through WA State’s running start program and both graduated with honors. I’m still homeschooling the last two, 16 and 10. I don’t say this to brag, only to show it works and they are all normal well adjusted, fully functioning people.
