Hey Darren. I work on small engines and what constitutes appx 50% of the repairs we take in are fuel system related. One product we’ve found that is consistently good for the long haul is Husqvarna mixed or 4 cycle gas. The worst thing is when hubby is away and the power goes out and the Mrs has to try to start a generator with varnished gas in a metal tank/bowl. The shop owner had the same 1 gallon of Husq fuel in his generator in the shed for 6 years. Last check, it had all evaporated. For generators and the average homeowner that uses their saw a couple times a year, the Husq gas is cheap “will start insurance”. We’ve seen water in ” Tru fuel” and other canned gas but Husq is consistently good if tank is clean to begin with and tank sealed up. Husq will extend your warranty if you buy several cans with purchase of a new saw, trimmer etc. Some dealers sell in bulk (bring your own can) but smaller quantities can be purchased at big box stores like Lowes, HD. Hope that’s useful to somebody.
