I’ve heard that some crushed egg shells sprinkled around the base will help with end rot. It’s usually caused by a lack of calcium in the soil, or so I’ve heard. You can do a compost tea of banana peels, egg shells and coffee grounds, especially with acid loving tomatoes, blueberries and azaleas – they LOVE used coffee grounds. At the very least, make a banana peel tea and sprinkle the crushed eggshells around the roots. You can often get used coffee grounds from most coffee shops. I know a lot of the ones around here will actually package them up in 1 lb bags if they know they have gardeners around that will pick them up. It doesn’t hurt to ask around. I hope this helps.
