To add to that I saw a video on YouTube where a guy bought dried beans at the grocery store and after sorting them he planted a few. The results were a successful harvest. Another guy I watched grows fodder for his rabbits and chickens. Rather than buying seeds in bulk online or from tractor supply he shops at a bird feeder store. He buys 5lb bags of birdseed and uses it to grow fodder as needed. He also gets 5lb bags of sunflower seeds. He uses some for fodder and some he plants in the garden so he has the seed heads to feed his critters in the winter.

With fruit & trees you might be able to find a friend who is pruning there’s. You can take the clipped branches and try putting them in a rooting compound.

The draw backs are that you may not necessarily no the name of the variety you end up with. If your goal is simply to grow food for yourself or your family though … does it really matter?

If you can’t find seeds or afford seeds, trees or bushes then search Google and YouTube for alternative ways to get seeds or propagate the plants you desire. Use phrases like “alternative ways”….”alternative methods to get”…. “ways to get seeds or trees” etc.

Good luck, good gardening and God bless!
