    Alternative ways to get seeds….

Buy produce from the Amish or Mennonite and save the seeds. Generally speaking you’ll get heirloom seed varieties cheaper and a higher quantity than from the store shelf packets.

Buy produce from organic food stores. It usually comes at a higher price and may not be cheaper than packets but still an optional seed resource.

Buy produce from your local grocery store and try the seeds. We wanted elephant garlic but I could only find bulb seeds online for $15.⁰⁰ to $17.⁰⁰ for a ½ lb. That’s rather steep for our budget but I’d watched a video of a guy that buys garlic from the store produce department and plants it. Wifey found some elephant garlic bulbs in the Walmart produce department for under $5.⁰⁰ a bulb. She bought 2 which weighed in at over ¾ of a pound. So put your thinking caps on and think outside the box.
