in the book square foot gardening answers by Mel Bartholomew page 119 he suggests
buttermilk-spray (page 123)
salt-spray (page 128)
or garlic-spray (page 129) for predatory mites for heavy infestation
buttermilk-spray
1/2 cup of flour
2-1/2 gallons of water
and 1/2 cup of buttermilk
you may need to apply 2 or 3 times
salt-spray
1/2 cup of epsom-salt
1 gallon of warm water
also works on cabbage-worms
garlic-spray
chop up a large head of garlic and soak then with 1 tablespoon of cayenne-pepper in about 1 quart warm water strain and fill a spray bottle the water mixed with a few drops of organic dishwashing-liquid
spray your plants liberally
you’ll need to spray again every couple of days and for a week after all insects disappear
thus spray repel slugs cutworms whiteflies aphids and many other insects
i have not had to test these out myself thus good-luck and let us know what you find works best for you and your area
bona-fide
