Little Marvel Peas

This is my first year planting this variety of peas (Little Marvel Peas) and although I’m very happy how they look, I’m not happy with how much they produced. I’m wondering if I should have done something different because they said it’s a smaller pea but they produce a lot. It was my only pea I grew so I could save seeds from 2 plants but the other plants I harvested today and I’m like this is it?? I’d have to plant like an acre to feed my family for a year (we do eat a lot of peas). Any tips to get more next year?

I planted Heirloom “Lincoln” peas in the spring and they did poorly, also. Yours did even better than mine. I just planted some for a fall crop on the opposite side of the garden to see if I can still get some this year.

I planted Lincoln peas to start with – all the Lincoln seeds I had and my ducks came through and ate them to the ground. Ugh! That was the only plants they touched.
