Burn Rubbish on Stock Tank Raised Beds

Quick question. I’m getting ready to clean up my galvanized stock tanks, and put them to “bed” for the winter. Can I just burn the debris, in the tank, and mix with my soil for next spring? I usually compost it all. Was wanting to try something different this fall.

    Thanks!

Do yo mean burn inside the tanks? I would not recommend this, as it will weaken the metal. As to the debris, if it’s organic material, burning it will help it breakdown faster. So burning it outside the tank, then adding it to your compost pile should be fine.

They are probably galvanized . Which is toxic when heated. Husbands a welder they don’t like welding it because it make them sick.

Agreed. You don’t want Zinc Poisoning, Nor do you want to burn the zinc off these tanks and remove years off their life.
