An abundance of fruit!
We had a hard frost this past week’ so I picked all the apples and pears, dug the sweet potatoes and stored a few green tomatoes. I knew that we would not eat all the fruit before it went bad, so I started a 2 gallon batch of apple wine and 2 gallon of pear wine.
Still had too much fruit, so ground up more apples and pears for 2 gallons of each for vinegar. This is my first try on making vinegar. At the price of “real” vinegar, this stuff is cheap as I only used two cups of sugar and some bread yeast.
I also have 5 gallons of Concord grape wine started that has been brewing about a month.
