Omg, thanks for all the info. I had a broody hen last year. Since it was the first time and I didn’t know if she would finish the job, I gave her only three eggs which two of them hatched and the third didn’t make it. I really hope I can count on her again this year.
I’ve started looking into incubators and found the Magicfly Digital Mini Fully Automatic Egg Incubator seems to be a great fit. Since I’m working three days a week plus additional irregular hours, I definitely need something fully automatic and reliable since I can’t trust my husband to keep an eye on it.
I still want to learn everything I can about incubating “manually “ just in case everything else fails.
Tomorrow is a day off and I’m going to check some more on incubators plus I want to talk to some local nurseries and see if I can interest someone to start varying chicken feed in lieu of the current eve.
