Who does the eagle represent?

Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.” (Obd 3-4, KJV)

Hmmm🤔?
Sure seems to fit like a glove more on some modern nation of today, at least from where I sit.
Best and most sure answer would come direct from the author. (Not Obadiah who penned it)😉
One thing for sure, whoever this applies to, it’s principle of the proud being brought low will continue to be truth.

None of His sheep will be lost, no matter what corrupt government they may live under.
I love all God’s children equally, the Hebrew children are no different to me than any of the rest. In the New Covenant which Christ died for their are no longer two groups but now we are all one in Him. At least that’s what my book says.
One Body
“11. Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12. That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15. Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16. And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17. And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18. For through him WE BOTH have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21. In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22. In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.” (Eph 2:11-22, KJV)

My job and yours is to tell all people about the kingdom of God ( 1 Corinthians 15-1-10 ) and how to get there ,time is short 🙏
-
Well now, here’s a good opportunity for you to share just how that may be accomplished.
I’m all ears, and perhaps others are too?👂👌😉
One bible many different views on what it actually says.
-
Many don’t even know what the Godpel is. What does it mean to you in your own words, not a bunch of scripture references?
You can share and then ask the same of me if you wish?
-
Its not a bunch of scriptures ,its the true gospel (the only gospel that Jesus died for you.. read it 1 Corn. 15 -1- 10. its for all people ,but if you dont have eyes to see it or ears to here it,he ( Jesus cant help you)
-
That’s ok to use scripture to define the Gospel. I was just hoping for a personal glimpse of how someone else had experienced the good news that Christ Jesus gave to mankind.
As for me, I’m so thankful that Jesus could love someone like me, a blasphemous, murderous adulterer who only deserved to be cast into a lake of fire separated forever from His love and forgiveness.
That although I deserved eternal death, He gave me the free gift of Life through His forgiveness which He purchased for me when He willingly died on a cruel cross at Calvary. How He has risen on the 3rd day victorious over death hell and the grave, so you and i could be filled with His Spirit giving us a New heart, mind and desires. That He is transforming us into those who like Him love others, even those who present themselves as enemies to us. Most of all that now because of His sacrifice I’ve been made perfect in Him with equal access to the Father through the faith that’s in Christ. I now know and am certain God hears all my prayers and is very pleased to give me every request I make according to His will.
I thank God for true Freedom from judgement and condemnation and the liberty we have in Him to just be ourselves who He created perfectly, even though we are each unique and different as such.
He’s given us all this and so much more, because He was willing to die for you and me.
So to me the short of it is. Thank you Jesus for saving awful wrotten sinners like myself and transforming us into your dear children. None of us deserved such extravagant love! Now Father teach me to love them as you have loved me!
I’ve often thought of just standing in front of a steeple house on Sunday and asking the participants as they departed what the Good News of the Gospel means to them. Sadly most would just throw me a bible verse. 😥 I reckon that’s all they know to say?
-
Sorry< I didnt mean to snap back at you. I am not one for long discussions I just try to point people to My LORD AND SAVIOR and they need to take it further If they are interested. GOD BLESS🙏
-
I understand, that’s how they taught me in the steeple house called church. As you can see, I didn’t fit in well. I’m not good at just letting others tell me how it is, in life or Sunday School. We were always told to bring people to church so they could hear the Gospel.
I was never once taught to take the Gospel in my life and share it with others. Do you see the difference and how our vain empty religious traditions are actually contrary to the Gospel?
Of course if they can’t get people church trained they cannot finance their efforts with a “tithe.” Then who will pay the preacher?
Coincidentally there is No account in the New Testament of the early church tithing, none.
Excuse the rabbit trail, 😉 that’s what they called it in churchville any time you would ask questions not directly about the topic “they” chose to talk about that day.
And since we only have a certain amount of preordained time before we must appear in the Big steeple house called “the church.” So that the “tithes” may be collected and the Clergy preacher/priest/prophet/teacher could tell all the rest of us what they believed to be the Gospel, because surely none of us who never went to cemetary / seminary and had never studied Greek, Hebrew or had any idea who Josephus was or the Oracles of Delphi were how could we possibly know anything about sharing the Gospel with the lost? That’s “their job?” 🤣 bahhhhhh.
I think not. We are each commissioned to share the Gospel with any and all who would listen. Like scripture says, Let each of us always be ready to give an answer for the hope that we have in us! That’s the Gospel and how sad 😥, all who name the name of Christ are not able to share it at every opportunity. By deed first and by word when permitted and necessary. 👍👌😉
-
I agree with all you say !!!! (and I was the same way,if he can save me he can save anyone) and that is what turned me off to a group church alo,but we all need the company of true believers around us. God knows your hart and will keep you on the straight and narrow path to him. 🙏
-
Yes He does and you know as I do that He always brings others to us we can fellowship with, even someone as odd as we may appear.
They asked Jesus how to identify his disciples. He said, “It’s those that love eachother.” That’s how we can tell especially when we hangout and do stuff together. Firewood cutting is one of my favorite bonding chores to do with others. 😎✌❤
-
LOL at 73 and to many surgery’s cutting firewood is not on the top of the list, but I will watch and drink my coffee😄
-
Less Feldick changed my life 30 years ago when I was looking for the LORD and he thinks the same way we do..I studied his shows for a long time and I was a very black sheep for a long time.BUT GOD saved me from my self for eternity to be in his service.👍

Over every exit door in our church is the sign “you are now entering the mission field”, and at the end of every sermon, our pastor says, “you are SENT”. Evangelism is 100% successful. If you deliver the message, the recipients may do with it what they are moved to do.
-
Like it’s said, “Preach the Gospel everywhere you go! And when absolutely necessary use words.”
-
YES,and that is why I am a seed sower the Holey Gospel 1 Cor15 1-10, and some are reapers doesn’t matter which one you are we just need to tell people about JESUS ASAP😄
-
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go [c]therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [d]Amen. OLD TESTAMENT but you are not under the old testament you are saved by grace after Paule conversion 1Cor:15-1-10 🙏

Who does the eagle represent in Obadiah?
1.) It’s proud and thinks none can bring it down.
2.) It sets its nest among the stars. (Space?)
If we asked the question who is the Bear or Dragon. Wouldn’t some perhaps consider Russia or China?
I find it interesting that no one thought the proud eagle could possibly be the USA?
Are we so proud we couldn’t comprehend that perhaps one day God will bring us down?
After reading this passage, the USA would be my 1st thought of who this eagle refers to. Perhaps I am alone in my observation?
“3. ¶ The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? 4. Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.” (Obd 3-4, KJV)
One thing is certain. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble…
Best if I just apply that personally in my life.👌😎 But it holds true whether at the individual level or a national level.
The proud shall be brought low.

Well the message/vision was given to Obadiah regarding Edom because of violence they did to their brother “Jacob” I believe Edom were descendants of Esau. When the verses 3 and 4 refer to their arrogance, and loftiness of their dwelling place and saying in their heart “Who will bring me down to earth?” and though they build high like the eagle, etc. the Lord declares He will bring them down. These verses remind me of other scriptures describing Lucifer who showed the ultimate pride and arrogance in thinking himself (the created) to be as high as God (the creator). I think any nation with that kind of pride is in danger of being brought down and God has certainly done this to many nations.
-
Yes amen. The truth is applicable wherever the shoe may fit. 👍

The eagle represents Babylon – America. The dragon represents the beast – China – The Bear represents Russia.

Yea brother! You know! There’s some AMAZING explanatory studies on sound biblical doctrine explaining GOG and MAGOG, explained by Dr. And Pastor Gene Kim on YouTube or Rumble, etc…. https://youtu.be/cJsLMWsuODA
I have a whole bunch of playlists made of him preaching…. On YouTube. @savedbythebloodofthecrucifiedone // There’s one link 🙂

I like studies on the power of the blood of Jesus. It’s foundational but few who profess Christ know anything of what His blood has accomplished for us. Imagine receiving an inheritance but only using 10% of it, because you were unaware of the other 90% even existed?

I prefer to study these type of things for myself without anyone else’s ideas to overlay on the big picture. I was a little put off when this guy belittled another view on interpreting scripture.
To me I saw a proud spirit who was certain (as almost everyother) teacher behaves. Not picking on this guy alone it’s just that people want to teach on the mysteries and come off like they are absolutely certain their interpretation is the only right one. That is a big red flag for me! But seems to embolden them with some air of authority.
Throughout my short time on earth its been my experience that “I’m absolutely certain my view is 100% correct” is only a big distraction from us being able to grow in wisdom and understanding, or be corrected when we need to be. It assumes that I’ve already got it all figured out and have no need of you (your thoughts on the subject) unless you agree with me.
This is contrary to the working of the Body His bride / church, which He himself designed so that each part was necessary and valuable. One fruit of the Spirit is we should be easily entreated. Not so sure of ourselves and teachings that we can’t truly listen to another perspective. I’ve been wrong many times about things I thought I was certain about. I thank God for His patience and kindness towards me in my errors.
Have you ever seen two men like this but with different views be able to earnestly listen to the other person’s ideas and teachings without a full on debate / argument? I never have, because each of them is already convinced absolutely of their view.
So to each their own, I’ve enjoyed a few bible teachers over the years, especially when they speak on foundational issues like Faith, Judgment, Righteousness & The power in the blood of Jesus or any basic Godpel message.
Other than that, it seems best for us each to ask our Father concerning further teachings and mysteries.
Scripture also teaches us to “know” them that labor amongst us. That’s not possible unless I have personal dealings with someone, not out here in a digital world where anyone can appear however they desire.
Honestly a lot of what fascinates the largest majority of believers are these type of teachings on the mysteries and prophetic interpretations. I suppose they did too for me once. Now, I’m earnestly desiring to know more deeply the simple truths like love my enemy and consider others more valuable than myself. Or how the Blood of Jesus has broken every curse and speaks for me constantly before the throne as my advocate.
These are the things I want to grow in knowledge of. That’s why I’ve always had an affinity for the KIS acronym. Keep it simple.
I know when I need to know a thing (mystery in scripture) I can be confident my good Father and friend will show me things as I need to know them.
That’s why I no longer am concerned what the physical manifestation of the mark will be. I know through my relationship with Him that He will whisper in my ear, “No not this you can’t participate.”
Hope that makes sense to you.
Shalom to you and yours in Christ.

Periodically I will seek for opinions on certain subjects and will listen to different points of view, but not often. Like you, I don’t really know anything about the people posting articles and videos. I have come to the realization that the more I read God’s scripture, the more I see how the explanations and interpretations are found in scripture. The scriptures explain themselves in many cases. I don’t think believers read the entire Bible as often as they should and are too dependent on others to teach them, rather than relying on the scripture and the Holy Spirit.

this young lady explains about the eagle

Thanks for sharing, but I honestly don’t listen to others who claim to be enlightened when I can go directly to God for myself through faith in Jesus Christ the Lord.
Why listen to other people tell us the mysteries when we can learn sitting directly at His feet who is all wisdom.and power?
If I learn from another person, then one day someone else with a better sounding explanation could change my thoughts on the matter.
But when I have been taught by God himself, no person could ever dissuade me from that truth.
Respectfully His student 💯%

We each should ask for more hunger for the bread of life.
It’s a blessing to know others want only His voice to teach them. He is after all the Good teacher.
-
thereby we should sit at the feet and listen only to your god and not to you…??
and we should ask for more hunger in the world when folk are starving…??
if that be the case then what you say does not matter as you are man and not god…??

There’s only one Creator God. ask Him is all I’m saying. Don’t look to me or anyone else.
-
i see the passing of the buck to god rather than answer for the words you yourself typed
then what be your purpose if we are not to listen to you…??
